Fire Safety

The Pennsylvania Division of Fire Safety consists of two departments, the Birdsboro Union Fire Department and the West Reading Fire Department. We also have two subdivisions you can join, the East Central Task Force Hazmat Division and the Fire Investigations Unit. You can also get certifications such as Search and Rescue and Life Flight, which is our medevac helicopter. The PDFS responds to many calls daily such as structure fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, search and rescue, hazardous materials, and much more.
